Laser hair removal works through selective photothermolysis. Light energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted into heat, affecting the follicle and reducing its ability to produce future hair.
Because hairs are not all in the same growth phase at once, a course of sessions is normally required. Individual outcomes and maintenance needs vary.
